LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 13, 2012) — Commerce Lexington Inc. will honor the “Thoroughbreds” of the city’s small business community Oct. 17 at its Salute to Small Business Awards Luncheon.
Awards will be presented in a variety of categories and a new Overall Small Business of the Year will be named.
An Overall Commerce Lexington Inc. Small Business of the Year is selected from the category winners, announced at this event, and is then submitted by the Bluegrass Small Business Development Center for state and national recognition through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Commerce Lexington began honoring the contributions of small businesses to our economy in 1986, and since that very first Salute to Small Business, the impact of small businesses on the global economy has become greater than ever before. Small business owners have accounted for more of the job growth in the United States over the past decade than larger companies.
The luncheon, Oct. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Keeneland Entertainment Center, is presented by Forcht Bank. It is $50 for Commerce Lexington members and $60 for potential members. To register, call 1-859-226-1608.
