LOUISVILLE, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Kentucky Retirement Systems (KRS) and Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) will hold a series of 27 informational seminars in cities across Kentucky for KRS retirees interested in learning about their new Medicare Advantage health plan options through Humana.
The new plan, effective January 1, 2013, offers KRS members a wide array of health and wellness benefits, including industry-leading clinical programs and access to fitness center memberships through SilverSneakers®. SilverSneakers offers free health education seminars, exercise classes and social activities that help members manage their health and allow them to interact with others who share an interest in a healthy lifestyle.
“We’re utilizing many communication channels to give KRS members information about their plan options and give them the tools they need to get the most from their health plan benefits,” said Rick Remmers, Vice President of Employer Group Distribution Leadership for Humana. “The seminars we’re holding across Kentucky are an ideal way for KRS members to get information and ask questions face-to-face, allowing them to fully understand their options.”
“This new benefit plan will give our members the coverage they need and address important lifestyle issues at the same time,” said Bill Thielen, KRS Executive Director.
