University of Kentucky Opens New Office in Louisville

By wmadministrator

The University of Kentucky has opened a full-time office in downtown Louisville that houses university offices for development, admissions, athletics and its sports marketing partner.

The office provides the university with an official presence in the state’s largest city, where many of the commonwealth’s largest businesses are headquartered and where UK recruits many students. The offices also provide ample space for alumni, admissions corporate partnerships and development meetings and events.

“Louisville and Jefferson County are home to some of the state’s top students, thousands of UK alumni, and many of Kentucky’s largest and most influential businesses,” said UK President Lee Todd. “We are pleased that this new office will allow us to collaborate with those influential community leaders, while bringing a little piece of UK to downtown Louisville.”

During the university’s recent $1 billion capital campaign, Jefferson County accounted for more than $52 million in gifts from more than 10,000 people, second only to Lexington/Fayette County. Nearly 25,000 UK alumni live in Jefferson County as well as nearly 3,000 current students – roughly 10 percent of the entire student population at the university.
