COVINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 9, 2013) — Fashion faux fur maker Donna Salyers’ Fabulous-Furs announced Wednesday that it has joined ShopHQ and will debuts with live presentations during ShopHQ’s Fashion Day on Saturday, Oct. 19. The premiere begins at 2 p.m. EST and will feature the season’s faux fur looks — from fashion-focused trends to fall fundamentals.

Inspiration for Fabulous-Furs came more than two decades ago when Salyers was driving to a fur salon, thrilled to be purchasing a full-length mink coat. Ironically, a radio broadcast on her car radio described kittens being skinned alive to become “mink” teddy bears. Horrified she was about to purchase a “kitty” coat, Donna was inspired to create a luxurious fur alternative.
A year later, in 1989, from the basement of her Cincinnati home, Donna launched Fabulous-Furs, selling a single product, a faux fur coat sewing kit. Today the company she began as a tribute to animals dominates the industry as the world leader.
