Store welcomes first customers with free samples
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 18, 2013) — Costco Wholesale Corp. officially opened its Lexington warehouse store to customers on Friday morning.
More than 4,000 people attended an open house at Costco Thursday evening, when the store offered a first look at its offerings, as well as free samples of its food and other products.
Located at Man O’War and Polo Club Boulevard, the 159,000-s.f. store has a variety of products, from Coach handbags to large screen televisions, eyeglasses, jewelry, clothing, food and office products, just to name a few.
About 1,300 area residents had Costco membership cards before the store was built. An additional 3,000 had signed up as of Friday morning, according to a store manager.
