Governor makes appointments to boards and commissions

on the boardsFRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 27, 2013) –Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Christopher Shane Britt as property valuation administrator for Allen County to serve according to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution. This order is effective Jan. 1, 2014.

Christopher Shane Britt, of Scottsville, is project director at Allen County Fiscal Court.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Emergency Response Commission:

Thomas K. Alexander, of Louisville, is an emergency planning and preparedness manager at LG&E and KU Energy LLC and represents business and industry. The appointment replaces David A. Hall, whose term has expired. Alexander shall serve for a term expiring April 17, 2014.

Robert Simpson Walker IV, of Lexington, is project manager at Hassett Willis and Co. He represents persons with technical expertise in the emergency response field. The appointment replaces Charles David Guy, who is deceased. Walker shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending April 17, 2014.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed David B. Hayden to the KASPER Advisory Council to serve for a term expiring Nov. 4, 2017.

David B. Hayden, of Lexington, is director of substance abuse services at Bluegrass Regional MH-MR Board Inc. He represents community mental health centers.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Ronald Brunty to the Environmental Quality Commission to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Jan. 1, 2017.

Ronald Brunty, of Letcher, is a counselor at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. The appointment replaces Kimberly R. Holmes, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Mark Douglas Grisham to the commission to serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2018.

Mark Douglas Grisham, of Paducah, is a health physicist at United States Enrichment Corp.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Certification of Fee-Base Pastoral Counselors: 


John Lepper, of Crestwood, is a pastoral counselor and head of a nonprofit at St. Matthews Pastoral Counseling Center and Kentucky Baptist Fellowship. He represents pastoral counselors. The appointment replaces Wade Rowatt, whose term has expired. Lepper shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 22, 2016.

Donald Lee Cutter, of Lexington, is a minister of pastoral counseling at St. Luke United Methodist Church. He represents pastoral counselors. The appointment replaces Thomas M. Holbrook, whose term has expired. Cutter shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 22, 2017.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Kathleen Jo Milans to the board to serve for a term expiring Sept. 22, 2017.

Kathleen Jo Milans, of Wilmore, is a pastoral counselor at Path of Life Ministry. She represents pastoral counselors.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Duran Hall to the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Funding Commission Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring Nov. 18, 2017.

Duran Hall, of Louisville, is an insurance executive at Maverick Insurance. He represents commercially insured employers. The appointment replaces Jeffery R. McIntosh, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Authority to serve for terms expiring Jan. 4, 2017. This order is effective Jan. 5, 2014. 

Russell F. Parks, of Lexington, is a retired teacher and coach at Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

George W. Ginter, of Lexington, is an anesthesiologist at Commonwealth Anesthesia. Ginter shall serve as chair of the authority.

♦ William A. Reisert IV, of Louisville, is an insurance agent at Reisert Insurance Inc. Reisert shall serve as vice chair of the authority.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Tourism Development Finance Authority to serve for terms expiring Jan. 31, 2018. This order is effective Feb. 1, 2014.

Eric W. Summe, of Covington, is president and CEO at Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Kimberly M. Huston, of Bardstown, is president and chief operating officer of the Nelson County Economic Development Agency.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Spinal Cord and Head Injury Research Board to serve for terms expiring Jan. 31, 2018. This order is effective Feb. 2, 2014.

Linda H. Gleis, of Louisville, is a physician at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She represents the Kentucky Medical Association.

Robert P. Friedland, of Louisville, is a physician. He represents the University of Louisville College of Medicine.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble, of Hopkinsville, to the Court Facilities Standards Committee to serve for a term expiring Jan. 6, 2018. This order is effective Jan. 7, 2014.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2016:

James A. Chandler, of Danville, is a home inspector at Chandler Home Inspection Services Inc. He represents licensed home inspectors.

Mitch D. Buchanan, of Frankfort, is a home inspector at Capital City Home Inspection Inc. He represents licensed home inspectors.

♦ Mark G. Oerther, of Louisville, is a home inspector at Mark Oerther Associates. He represents licensed home inspectors.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Tommy W. Chandler to the Personnel Board to serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2018. This order is effective Jan. 2, 2014.

Tommy W. Chandler, of Providence, is a retired lawyer and circuit judge.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Ronald J. Barbato to the State Board of Physical Therapy to serve for a term expiring Dec. 3, 2017.

♦ Ronald J. Barbato, of Danville, is a physical therapist at Ephraim McDowell Health. The appointment replaces Peggy R. Block, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service to serve for terms expiring Jan. 3, 2017:

♦ Andrew M. Gott, of Louisville, is an admissions counselor at Western Kentucky University. He represents youth. The appointment replaces Robert L. Jackson, whose term has expired.

♦ Christina L. Libby, of Frankfort, is a program coordinator for the Office of Inspector General of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She represents individuals with expertise in educational, training and development needs of youth. The appointment replaces Jana D. Sturm, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Angela M. Arnett to the Native-American Heritage Commission to serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2017.

♦ Angela M. Arnett, of Waynesburg, is a professional artist. She represents the public at large. The appointment replaces Carla Hildebrand, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the commission to serve for terms expiring Sept. 1, 2017:

Susan Mullins, of Berea, is an artist and jeweler at Jewel Box Native Jewelry. She represents the public at large.

David Pollack, of Lexington, is an archaeologist at the Kentucky Heritage Council. He represents members of the preservation or archeological communities.

Michael Presnell, of Louisville, is the owner of Presnell Design Group. He represents the public at large. Presnell shall serve as vice chair of the commission.
