Midway College reaches all-time enrollment record and surpasses goal set for academic year

MIDWAY, Ky. (March 16, 2012) — Midway College reported that it has reached a total unduplicated enrollment of 2,412 students. This is an all-time high for the College and it surpasses the goal the College set for itself of reaching 2,310 students by the end of this academic year in June.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment and all of our faculty and staff helped play a part in the College reaching this historic milestone.” said Dr. William B. Drake, Jr., Midway College President. “The College continues to see growth in the adult education segment with our degree completion programs and graduate degree programs.”

At this point in time last year we had reached 2,012 students, another record for the College and had already surpassed last year’s goal. With unduplicated enrollment for the academic year at 2,412 today, that equals a 20 percent increase-400 more students-from a year ago. This is 4.4 percent over this year’s goal of 2,310. The majority of the growth is attributed to the College’s evening and online programs.

This year marks the 165th anniversary of the College as an educational institution in Kentucky.
