Ephraim McDowell emergency department receives Women’s Choice Award

DANVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 12, 2014) – Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center’s emergency department has been recognized for the high quality care given to its female patients. The department received the Women’s Choice Award from WomenCertified Inc., recognizing it as one of the 2014 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience in Emergency Care.

eph2-267x144Ephraim McDowell’s emergency department is one of only 280 hospitals in the nation to earn this award. The department garnered the award based on the analysis of hospital data submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding emergency department performance.

“It is an honor to be a recipient of the prestigious 2014 Women’s Choice Award,” said Vicki A. Darnell, president and CEO, Ephraim McDowell Health. “This award recognizes the hard work that our Emergency Department physicians and Associates have been doing in our Level III trauma center.”
