Has been with Thorntons for 20 years
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 1, 2014). — Thorntons chief operating officer Tony Harris will take over as president of the convenience store chain in October. Matt Thornton, current CEO and president, will continue as CEO.
Harris, 43, is a 20-year Thorntons veteran and a 1993 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in Management Information Systems. He obtained his Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in 2012.
Thorntons also announced that Mike Woerner, chief people officer will take over as chief operating officer in October. Woerner joined Thorntons in 2009 with 30 years of retail experience at Wawa and Dollar General. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University.
