Kevin Gue, who served 10 years as the Tim Cook associate professor of industrial engineering at Auburn, starts at UofL Aug. 18.

In addition to being director of LoDI, he will join the industrial engineering faculty as the Duthie Chair of Engineering Logistics.

Gue succeeds Sunderesh Heragu as LoDI director. Heragu left UofL last year for a position at Oklahoma State University.

LoDI is responsible for sustaining a high-quality research environment by facilitating interdisciplinary and applications-oriented research that benefits both the Louisville academic and business communities.

Gue has an interest in the design and control of logistics systems, especially those inside distribution centers and factories. His recent research has involved the study of the design of aisles in a warehouse and ways of improving service performance of order fulfillment systems.
