Centre ranked top state school by College Factual

Asbury University is best value in Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 25, 2014) — Centre College is the best college in the state and 91^st best in the nation among 1,394 colleges ranked by College Factual. Among 27 state schools ranked, Transylvania was second, Berea College third, the University of Kentucky fourth and Bellarmine University fifth.

Asbury University was ranked highest for best value, at 118^th out of 1,223 schools. UK was the only other state school in the top 300, at 293.

“These (Best Colleges for the Money) rankings look at the quality and average cost of each college, as well as the average time it takes a student to graduate,” the web site says. “The colleges are then ranked based on the value of the education you will receive for the amount of money you will spend. This allows you to spot colleges that might cost less, but still provide you with a solid four-year undergraduate education that is equal to or better than higher-cost schools.”

• Alice Lloyd College was ranked 1,244 out of 1,394 colleges, 20 out of 27 Kentucky colleges and 431 out of 1,223 for best value.
• Asbury Univeristy was ranked 478 out of 1,394 colleges, six out of 27 Kentucky colleges and 118 out of 1,223 for best value
• Bellarmine University was ranked 475 out of 1,394 colleges, five out of 27 Kentucky colleges and 812 out of 1,223 for best value.
• Berea College was ranked 411 out of 1,394 colleges, three out of 27 Kentucky colleges and nine out of 1,223 for best value.
• Brescia University was ranked 1,152 out of 1,394 colleges and 16 out of 27 Kentucky colleges.
• Campbellsville University was ranked 1,119 out of 1,394 colleges, 14 out of 27 Kentucky colleges and 978 out of 1,223 for best value.
• Centre College was ranked 91 out of 1,394 colleges and first out of 27 Kentucky colleges.
• Eastern Kentucky University was ranked 1,198 out of 1,394 colleges, 18 out of 27 Kentucky colleges and 535 out of 1,223 for best value.
• Georgetown College was ranked 482 out of 1,394 colleges and seven out of 27 Kentucky colleges.
• Kentucky Christian University was ranked 1,251 out of 1,394 colleges and 22 out of 27 Kentucky colleges.
• Kentucky Wesleyn University was ranked 1,101 out of 1,394 colleges, 13 out of 27 Kentucky colleges and 712 out of 1,223 for best value.
