Intelligrated to expand operations in Danville

Could create up to 50 jobs

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 5, 2014)One of the fastest growing companies in the material handling industry is planning to expand in central Kentucky. Gov. Steve Beshear today announced Intelligrated Inc. will grow its operations in Danville, five years after it had initially revealed plans to move the operation to Ohio.

intelligratIntelligrated, a manufacturer of automated material handling and robotics systems, is expected to create up to 50 jobs and invest $1.6 million into the project. Hiring is expected to begin in the coming months.

“This is a great comeback story,” Beshear said. “After nearly moving manufacturing out of Kentucky, Intelligrated is making a solid commitment to growing its success here in the commonwealth. This partnership will lead to the creation of dozens of jobs and a significant investment in central Kentucky, two extremely good reasons to mark this as a time for celebration.”

Intelligrated’s Danville facility was slated for closure in 2009 as the company planned to consolidate its operations to Ohio. Due to an increase in product demand and the local specialized workforce, however, Intelligrated kept the plant open, and it’s been growing ever since.

Founded in 2001, Intelligrated is an industry leader in developing and producing automated material handing solutions for companies around the world. Intelligrated employs more than 2,500 in 10 states and six countries. The company’s Danville facility currently employs nearly 130 workers.
