LEXINGTON, Ky. To help with the challenge Lexington has received $20,000 from ICLEI–Local Governments for Sustainability USA and Office Depot.

Businesses will offer help in attaining green goals, with Office Depot providing free green purchasing training, Graybar Lexington offering free energy and lighting assessments, Klausing Group providing recommendations on how to use green landscaping and reduce outdoor water use and Bluegrass Greensource providing assistance on waste reduction and other issues.

For the first time competitors can complete an online scorecard developed by Green PSF (Per Square Foot) to help businesses track their energy consumption, find financial incentive, and attain information on how to improve sustainability.
