First round of Venture Sharks entrepreneur competition set for April 18

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 12, 2012) Venture Connectors will be hosting the third annual Venture Sharks Nurse Sharks “Preliminary Bait” round next week at the offices of Bingham, Greenebaum, Doll on S. Fifth Street.

This round of the competition is open to the public at no charge.

Venture Connectors —a not-for-profit organization formed in 1995 to bring entrepreneurs and investors together in a professional, but relaxed forum — received more than 50 applications this year from entrepreneurs. A reviewed each application and chose the top 10 ideas for the first round of the competition.

On April 18 at 5:30 p.m., the entrepreneurs will have three minutes to pitch their ideas to a team of judges, who will have two minutes ask questions about each of the business ideas. Together with the audience, the judges will cast their votes, and the top four ideas will go “swim with the great white sharks” in the final round of competition, according to a press release from Venture Sharks.

The final “Shark Bait” round will be May 2 at the Venture Connectors’ Luncheon meeting at the Ali Center in Louisville. The winning idea will be selected by the judges and audience.

The grand prize is at least $5,000.

Attendees must RSVP for the final round at: www.ventureconnectors.org.
