Final Honor Flight of season leaves from CVG on Wednesday

Will carry 72 veterans to Washington D.C.

COVINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2014) — The final Honor Flight will depart on Wednesday from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport for Washington D.C. to see memorials and participate in ceremonies that honor their service to their country.

HonorFlightHonor Flight Tri-State is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to fly World War II and Korean War veterans to their memorials in Washington, D.C. at no cost. All veterans traveling on this flight are from the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and South Eastern Indiana area.

The flight, which will consist of 72 area veterans, will include visits to the World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Iwo Jima, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the US Air Force Memorial and other Washington D.C. sights.

The flight leaves at 8 a.m. Anyone wishing the meet the veterans can do so at the airport at 6 a.m. during a ceremony or at 10:15 p.m. when the flight returns.
