METCO approves loans to two Louisville small businesses

Loans for renovations

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 31, 2014) — The Louisville Metropolitan Business Development Corporation approved loans totaling $150,000 to two small metro businesses.

The loans will leverage a total investment of $1.6 million to assist the companies to renovate properties and prepare for productive commercial reuse.

Businesses receiving loans:

  • $50,000 façade loan to Nomad, LLC for its property located at 1809 W. Jefferson St. The loan will allow owners, Willie Titus and Allen Lazaro, to improve the storefront and paint the building. Improvements will include a new brick wall between the parking lot and sidewalk.
  • $100,000 business loan to Against the Grain, LLC for an expansion property at 1800 Northwestern Pky. The loan will provide working capital for the owners, Adam Watson, Jerald Gnagy, Andrew Ott and Samuel Cruz, to expand the brewery operations. The restaurant operation will remain at Slugger Field.
