Kentucky Arts Council hosting creative industry summit

Event is Dec. 3 in Louisville

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 19, 2014) — The Kentucky Arts Council will host its creative industry summit on Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts in Louisville.

creativeThe event will launch the inaugural Kentucky Creative Industry Report, which examines the industry’s economic importance and characteristics, and its strengths and challenges in Kentucky.

This summit illustrates the rising role of Kentucky’s creative industry through the primary lenses of creative enterprise, creative place making and creative convergence.

The day includes an overview of the new report and panels discussing creative enterprises: jobs created through the arts and the economic impact of artists; creative place making: how vibrant communities attract residents and desirable industry by fostering a creative workforce; and creative convergence: how other industries benefit from creative minds.
