Each named a Top 10 All-American City by National Geographic
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Nov. 24, 2014) — Bowling Green and Louisville were each recognized as a Top 10 All-American City by National Geographic in its book “World’s Best Cities: Celebrating 220 Great Destinations.”
Bowling Green is the birthplace of the Corvette and home of the National Corvette Museum and the new NCM Motorsports Park.
“Being recognized as a Top 10 All-American City by National Geographic is a great honor for Bowling Green,” said Vicki Fitch, executive director at the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Bowling Green’s distinction with the car brings it international acclaim and we’re grateful to the Corvette community for its impact on our city.”
Bowling Green was also recognized for its historic downtown square, professional Minor League baseball team, a family-owned amusement park, the Downing Museum at the Baker Arboretum and the Kentucky Museum’s Instruments of American Excellence exhibit that features ordinary objects used by extraordinary Americans.
Louisville was featured in the Top 10 Food cities list because its Brown Hotel is home to the famous Hot Brown, an open-faced turkey sandwich on Texas toast with bacon, tomatoes and a cream sauce.
