Governor makes appointments to boards and commissions

Appoints or reappoints 18 to positions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 19, 2014) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Appointed to the Kentucky River Authority to serve for a term expiring Sept. 18, 2018.

  • Wilmore Mayor Harold L. Rainwater represents mayors. The appointment replaces Russell A. Meyer, whose term has expired.

Reappointed to the Kentucky River Authority to serve for a term expiring Sept. 18, 2018.

  • Rodney Simpson, of Frankfort, is a self-employed consultant. He represents counties adjacent to Locks and Dams Nos. 1-4 of the Kentucky River.

Appointed to the Board of Certification of Fee-Based Pastoral Counselors to serve for terms expiring Sept. 22, 2018.

  • Elizabeth R. Milazzotto, of Louisville, is a pastoral psychotherapist at St. Matthews Pastoral Counseling Center Inc. She represents pastoral counselors. The appointment replaces Joe Bob Pierce, whose term has expired.
  • Carla M. Cook, of Frankfort, is a retired teacher and active wellness consultant. She represents citizens at large. The appointment replaces Seniora A. Burdette, whose term has expired.

Appointed to the Water Transportation Advisory Board to serve for terms expiring Sept. 30, 2018:

  • Thomas E. Riney, of Owensboro, is president and CEO at Owensboro Riverport. He represents members at large. The appointment replaces Kenneth Lanham, whose term has expired.
  • David E. Hammond Jr., of Edgewood, is president at Inland Marine Service Inc. He represents members at large. The appointment replaces Keith Landry, whose term has expired.

Reappointed to the Water Transportation Advisory Board to serve for terms expiring Sept. 30, 2018:

  • William N. Whitlock, of Prospect, is the owner of Rivergreen Water Recycling. He represents Kentuckians for Better Transportation.
  • Valerie N. Smith, of Rush, is director of Boyd County economic and community development. She represents the Kentucky Association of Riverports.

Appointed to the Board of Respiratory Care to serve for terms expiring Oct. 31, 2017:

  • Tamara G. McDaniel, of Stanford, is a respiratory therapist at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She represents respiratory care practitioners. The appointment replaces Janet R. Vogt, whose term has expired.
  • Pamela G. Boykin, of Mount Washington, is a pulmonary medicine supervisor at Robley Rex Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She represents respiratory care practitioners. The appointment replaces Tina M. Siddon, whose term has expired.
  • James R. McCormick, of Lexington, is a physician at the University of Kentucky. He represents pulmonologists. The appointment replaces Matthew M. McIntosh, whose term has expired.

Appointed to the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2017:

  • Welford T. “Bud” Wenk, of Hopkinsville, is a self-employed home inspector. He represents licensed home inspectors. The appointment replaces James R. Bone, whose term has expired.
  • Edward C. “Neal” Tong, of Owensboro, is a self-employed builder and remodeler. He represents the Home Builders Association of Kentucky. The appointment replaces Mark Schmidt, whose term has expired.

Reappointed to the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2017.

  • Robert P. Johnson, of Louisville, is a self-employed home inspector. He represents licensed home inspectors.

Appointed to the Kentucky Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education to serve for terms expiring Dec. 15, 2017:

  • Julia Link Roberts, of Bowling Green, is a professor at Western Kentucky University. She represents postsecondary education institutions. The appointment replaces Kimberly Nettleton, whose term has expired.
  • Jodi Ludmann, of Union, is a teacher for Beechwood Independent Schools. She represents teachers. The appointment replaces Pam Geisselhardt, whose term has expired.
  • Lisa D. Sills, of Calvert City, is a secretary for Marshall County Board of Education. She represents parents. The appointment replaces Jan Lanham, whose term has expired.

Appointed as commonwealth’s attorney for the 56th Judicial Circuit of Kentucky. The order is effective Jan. 1, 2015.

  • Carrie L. Ovey-Wiggins, of Eddyville, shall serve according to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution. The appointment fills the vacancy created by the resignation of G.L. Ovey.
