Free manufacturing training offered in Louisville

Classes begin March 16

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 26, 2015) — The Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center is enrolling students now for its next Certified Production Technician training course from March 16 to April 10.

kentuckiansThe free class are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with tests conducted on Fridays.

The next orientation sessions are:

  • Monday, March 2 at 2 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 5 at 2 p.m.

Monday, March 9 at 2 p.m.

The course covers safety, quality and measurement procedures, the manufacturing process and maintenance. Graduates earn a nationally recognized certificate and four college credit hours from Jefferson Community & Technical College to be used in manufacturing programs.

Class are open to any resident, at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED who lives in Louisville and surrounding Bullitt, Henry, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble counties.
