UofL to host film symposium on film and filmmaking in Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 5, 2015) A film symposium scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 13 at the University of Louisville will focus on “Film and Filmmaking in Kentucky II: Showing Work, Seeing Work and Building Audiences.”

6218cad5-db76-47cf-9c56-bbf0cdd7692aThe event will include speakers discussing successful film festivals, creative entrepreneurship and tax incentives in filmmaking and the need for exposure for video artists.

Abina Manning, director of the Video Data Bank at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, will give the keynote talk, “The Target Keeps Moving – Contemporary Film and Video Distribution.” Video Data Bank’s collection includes work by more than 500 contemporary artists and 5,500 video art titles.
