Will commit $150,000 to SOAR over next three years
LOUISVILLE (April 27, 2015) — Baptist Health has become the first healthcare provider to sign on as a founding partner in Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR), an initiative aimed at improving the quality of life in Eastern Kentucky.
Baptist Health has committed $150,000 to the initiative over the next three years and will work with SOAR to develop and implement health and education initiatives for residents of Appalachian Kentucky.
In the fall of 2013 Gov. Steve Beshear and Rep. Hal Rogers created SOAR to address issues of economic development, health and overall quality of life facing Eastern Kentucky.
