Highlands High School rated best public school in Kentucky by U.S. News & World Report

Rankings based on state assessments, college readiness

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 13, 2015) — U.S. News & World Report on Tuesday released its 2015 Best High School Rankings, including a state-by-state list of the best public schools in the U.S., based on state assessments and college readiness.

highThe top high school in Kentucky is Highlands High School in Fort Thomas, according to the report. Highlands, which was ranked 197th nationally, was singled out for having a low student-to-teacher ratio (17-1) and for being above the state average in college readiness, Algebra and English.

DuPont Manual in Louisville was ranked second, followed by Beechwood High School, Brown School, Ballard High School, Henry Clay High School, Louisville Male High School, Glasgow High School, South Laurel High School and Lafayette High School.
