Class of 21 completes 2014-15 Leadership Central Kentucky program

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 28, 2015) — The Leadership Central Kentucky program recently recognized its newest class of regional leaders during a graduation reception in Madison County on May 20. Having completed its 15th year, the Leadership Central Kentucky program seeks to build a network of committed, informed and progressive citizens, who are connected across institutional and county lines.

Presented by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., and LG&E/KU – PPL Companies, participants attended day sessions each month within an eight-county region that includes Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Jessamine, Madison, Scott, and Woodford counties. Class members studied community and regional topics such as transportation, education, economic development, quality of life, public advocacy, and agri-tourism.  The topics are covered by knowledgeable speakers and panels, tours, interactive exercises and class discussions.

Leadership Central Kentucky program director Amy Stallard said, “Coming out of the Leadership Central Kentucky experience, we expect our graduates to have gained a new understanding of how each county’s actions affect the others, and we hope that every single participant will commit to the idea that our region will realize its highest potential through working together.”

Applications for the 2015-16 Leadership Central Kentucky program are available online now at leadershipcentralkentucky.com or by contacting Amy Stallard at (859) 226-1610 or [email protected].
