St. Elizabeth Healthcare names new president

Garren Colvin has been with St. Elizabeth since 1983

EDGEWOOD, Ky. (June 16, 2015) — St. Elizabeth Healthcare has named Garren Colvin its new president and chief executive officer. Colvin has been with St. Elizabeth for 32 years, most recently serving as interim president and CEO.

Colvin joined St. Elizabeth in May 1983 as a co-op student while in school at Thomas More College. Since then, he has served St. Elizabeth as vice president of finance, senior vice president and chief financial officer, executive vice president and chief operating officer and interim president and chief executive officer. He had a significant role in the merger of the former St. Luke Hospitals and St. Elizabeth in 2008.

He also provided expertise during the consolidation of Patient First and Summit Medical Group into St. Elizabeth Physicians in 2010. Under his leadership and direction, St. Elizabeth has shown consistent and stable financial performance, earning two successive bond rating upgrades for St. Elizabeth to its current AA rating, just one rating below the highest available bond rating.

Colvin, who attended Ludlow High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Administration from Thomas More College in 1986 and a Master of Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University in 1996.
