Two Kentucky cities to be designated Trail Towns

Assists with tourism opportunities

FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 7, 2015) — First Lady Jane Beshear will announce on Wednesday that London and Stearns have been named the newest Kentucky Trail Towns.

Beshear will make the announcement in London at 10 a.m. at the Trailhead & Farmers Market and at 12:30 p.m. in Stearns across from the Big South Fork Depot.

The Trail Town program, created in 2012, helps provide assistance for tourism in communities along long distance trails, an extensive trail system or a river used for canoeing and kayaking.

Livingston, Morehead, Dawson Springs and Olive Hill have previously been designated as Trail Towns.
