Project management director position created for City of Lexington

Will be in charge of capital projects

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 20, 2015) — The City of Lexington has created a new position—project management director—whose responsibility is to create an efficient system for the city’s capital projects, Mayor Jim Gray said today.

“Approved by Council through the new budget, the goal for the new position is to increase efficiency and quality…getting the best for less…continuous improvement: how can we improve today what we did yesterday?” said Gray. “We have talented people in government today managing projects but these managers have been separated physically and without one set of operating guidelines. We want our project management director to ensure that our project managers have the systems they need to deliver the best results with the tax dollars they manage.”
