Boutique hotel planned for Louisville’s Republic Building

Louisville, Ky. – The Republic Bank building in downtown Louisville is to be converted into a swanky boutique hotel, according to an article in The Courier-Journal.

Florida developer Hudson Holdings made the announcement about the 11-story office structure at the corner of Fifth Street and Muhammed Ali Boulevard. The structure was purchased for $3 million on Friday, according to the article.

The hotel design should be final in 30 to 60 days, the article says, with interior demolition to begin soon thereafter.

The Republic Building was constructed in 1912 and has more than 62,000 s.f. of space.
