Bowling Green, your Uber is arriving now

Bowling Green, Ky. – Uber, the mobile app-based transportation network, is now available in Bowling Green, Ky., the company announced. Bowling Green is the third Kentucky site Uber is available, along with Louisville and Lexington.

Uber Bowling Green’s very first riders on Aug. 27 were Telia Butler, with the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Ashlee Wilson and Tonya Matthews, both of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. The trio took a spin around the block with the Uber Bowling Green driver-partner “Rick” in his Chrysler 300.

“Bowling Green is the third largest city in Kentucky. We’re booming and bustling, and we are very excited that another transportation service option is coming to the city,” Telia said. “We hope that this will bring more people to the downtown area and make Bowling Green more accessible.”

Users must download the app and enter the required information to receive a ride. Once a ride is confirmed, users see the name and picture of the driver, the vehicle make and model, and the license plate number. Once the ride is complete, a receipt for the transaction is emailed to the user. There is a $5.00 minimum on all rides.
