Highland Heights, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University’s Master of Business Informatics (MBI) program is among the best such programs in the nation, according to a new ranking.
The Financial Engineer Times has ranked the program 11th in the nationamong graduate programs in business analytics.
The 2016 rankings take into account GMAT scores, undergraduate GPA, acceptance rate, post-graduation employment, and starting salary. The program was ranked 16th in the nation in 2015.
“Graduate education in business analytics is an important specialty in high demand. I’m proud that NKU has achieved recognition for continuing to stay at the forefront of this fast-changing field,” said Kevin Kirby, dean of the College of Informatics.
The MBI program is geared toward working students, with evening and online classes offered and specialization options in business analytics and corporate information built into the curriculum. Graduates are prepared to help companies adapt to emerging technologies, and are employed by firms such as Procter & Gamble, Great American Financial and Citigroup.
“The department of business informatics leverages both business and information management technologies which provides a synergistic and valuable applied education for our students,” said Frank Braun, chair of the Department of Business Informatics.
NKU’s Department of Business Informatics includes a number of degree and certificate programs and is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a distinction earned by fewer than 15 percent of the more than 11,000 business schools worldwide.
