Kentucky Nonprofit Network hosting Breakfast with the Candidates

Scheduled for Oct. 27 in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 12, 2015) — Kentucky Nonprofit Network, the state association of nonprofits, is hosting a Breakfast with the Candidates on Oct. 27 from 7:30-9:15 a.m. at the Lexington Convention Center.

KNNConfirmed candidates include:

  • Governor – Matt Bevin and Drew Curtis, Attorney General Jack Conway is invited
  • Attorney General – Andy Beshear, Sen. Whitney Westerfield
  • Secretary of State – Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes and Steve Knipper.

Each candidate will receive approximately five minutes to address the audience.

KNN created this event to provide nonprofit leaders with an opportunity to hear from each candidate on the role of the nonprofit sector in their vision for Kentucky and highlight the importance of nonprofit voices.

“Nonprofit organizations are critical to Kentucky’s quality of life, our economy and as vital contract partners for certain services the state is obligated to provide to the citizens of the commonwealth,” said Danielle Clore, KNN executive director. “We are looking forward to hearing from these candidates and sharing an important message: nearly 12 percent of Kentuckians work for nonprofit organizations and we vote.”

The breakfast is being held prior to KNN’s 13th Annual Kentucky Nonprofit Leadership Forum, the largest statewide convening of nonprofits in Kentucky. The breakfast is a separate, ticketed event and a light breakfast will be served. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each at kynonprofits.org/forum.
