“I am pleased to announce John Chilton as our State Budget Director,” Governor-elect Bevin said. “He is a man of exceptional character, extensive financial knowledge, and proven leadership experience. The Commonwealth of Kentucky is blessed to have a budget director with John’s abilities and commitment to service.”

“According to the Beshear administration, they are leaving Kentucky burdened with a projected biennial budget shortfall of more than five hundred million dollars. The appointment of a highly qualified budget director, therefore, is of tremendous importance,” Bevin continued. “Much work is needed to get Kentucky’s financial crisis resolved, but I know John is up to the challenge.”

“I am honored to be chosen by Governor-elect Bevin for this post,” Chilton said. “Governor Bevin is a principled businessman with the courage to make the tough decisions needed to get our fiscal house in order. I am humbled by this opportunity to serve the Commonwealth.”

Chilton graduated with a B.S. in Accounting with focus in Management Science from the University of Tennessee. His credentials include Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
