Nominations being accepted for UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Centenarian Awards

Deadline to nominate is March 9

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 10, 2016) — Nominations are being accepted for the University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Centenarian Awards. Nominations must be 100 or older within the 2016 calendar year and live in Kentucky. The nomination deadline is March 9. Recipients will be notified by March 30.

UnknownCentenarians will be recognized during the free “I Know Expo” on April 3. During the event, experts on healthy aging and coping with disabilities will be on hand for one-on-one discussions and informative presentations on housing, healthcare and insurance, legal and financial planning, living well and staying active.

Centenarians will also be celebrated at Sanders-Brown Annual Dinner on Apr. 7. The dinner will fund internationally recognized ongoing research at the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, where researchers are engaged in the battle against Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related illnesses. Captain Jim Lovell, famous for his calm, careful command of Apollo 13 will be the keynote speaker.
