Arts council offering summer youth activities

Includes camps

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 27, 2016) — The Kentucky Arts Council has published an online directory of summer arts camps, programs and activities for Kentucky students hosted by Kentucky Arts Partnership organizations. Programs include a variety of disciplines such as visual art, theater, music, writing, dance and more, all designed to provide Kentucky children an enriching experience in the arts.

Louisville Visual Art executive director Lindy Casebier said he expects his organization will serve more than 100 youth this summer in activities that include digital methods in photography, sequential art and stop-motion animation.

“We try to make our camps not only a fun summer experience, but also a real learning opportunity to teach students skills they can carry with them long after the camps are over,” Casebier said.
