Leadership Kentucky was created in 1984 as a non-profit educational organization

Lexington, Ky. (June 14, 2016) – The World Trade Center Kentucky announced that the organization’s Vice President of Client Outreach and Development , Sherry Mulkins, has been accepted into the 2016 class of Leadership Kentucky.

Leadership Kentucky was created in 1984 as a non-profit educational organization to bring together a selected group of people that possess a broad variety of leadership abilities, career accomplishments, and volunteer activities to gain insight into complex issues facing the state. The goal is to prepare participants to take an active role in advancing the state for the common good.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the World Trade Center Kentucky, we’re extremely proud of Sherry’s selection to participate in the 2016 Leadership Kentucky class. Sherry’s regional and international business experience makes her an excellent and timely selection for the program. The 2016 Leadership Kentucky participants along with the World Trade Center Kentucky and Sherry will greatly benefit from her involvement,” said Edwin Webb, President and CEO of WTC-KY.

Through a series of seven monthly, two-day sessions, held in various locations in the state, participants are educated about the state of Kentucky and its challenges. They meet and talk with Kentucky’s current leaders and through a systematic educational program, explore the state’s opportunities, needs and resources.

The curriculum focuses on the state’s economy, education, health and human services, law and justice, and environment.

“I am very honored to have been chosen and for the opportunity to work with and learn from my peers in the 2016 Leadership Kentucky class. I hope to bring a fresh and enlightened perspective back to the World Trade Center Kentucky and our organization will use the knowledge from this experience to help us shape the future of Kentucky trade,” said Mulkins.
