Kentucky Arts Council launches new website

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Arts Council launched a new version of its website today, www.artscouncil.ky.gov.

The site has been in development since the establishment of the arts council’s six-year strategic plan. The site’s design is structured on the five themes from that plan: Vibrant Communities, Creative Industry, Creativity and Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Showcasing the Arts.

“Since our strategic plan was constructed based on extensive public comment, you could say that the public had a hand in the new website,” said Lori Meadows, arts council executive director. “Visitors to the site will find that it is more user friendly and intuitive, with a clean, colorful design that reflects the work we do for the arts in Kentucky.”

The homepage will include a spotlight on a featured artist, which will change periodically during the year. In addition, the homepage will have handy links to the archive for our electronic newsletter, Arts E-News and other popular features. At a glance, users will be able to find out about grant application deadlines, awards programs and other important information about the arts in Kentucky.

“Developing this has been an exciting learning experience,” Meadows said. “We’re happy to see this new site launch today.”
