State’s KnowHow2Transfer website launch set for Wednesday

One-stop, transparent website to smooth transfer process for students

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 4, 2012) — The Council on Postsecondary Education and the state’s public colleges and universities will launch a transfer website Wednesday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at the Council on Postsecondary Education, Frankfort.

The website aims to promote a seamless student transfer experience from the Kentucky Community and Technical College System campuses to four-year institutions, which will save students time and money as they learn how their courses will transfer and count toward their four-year degree requirements. The website is an outgrowth of 2010 transfer legislation known as House Bill 160.

Confirmed speakers include Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson, Representative Carl Rollins, KCTCS Chancellor Jay Box, EKU President Doug Whitlock and CPE President Robert King. Emily Conder, a junior at the University of Kentucky and a transfer student, will speak about her experiences.

Updates on key transfer initiatives also will be provided.
