Lexington ranked 6th, Louisville 26th in 2016’s Best Run Cities in America

Lexington tied for top spot for Most Hospital Beds per Capita

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 27, 2016) — WalletHub, a personal finance website, recognized Lexington and Louisville on its list of 2016’s Best Run Cities in America. Lexington-Fayette was ranked sixth overall and Louisville 26th, out of the 150 largest cities in the U.S.

Cities were ranked in six categories: Financial Stability; Education; Health; Safety; Economy; and Infrastructure & Pollution. Cities were ranked based on 25 metrics from the six categories on a scale of 0 to 100 in each category, with each category counting towards a total of 16.66 points.

Lexington-Fayette, which tied for first for Most Hospital Beds per Capita, finished ranked 43rd in Financial Stability, 12th in Education, 11th in Health, 55th in Safety, 88th in Economy and 102nd in Infrastructure & Pollution. Lexington-Fayette was ranked sixth in Total Budget per Capita and 27th in Overall City Services.

Louisville finished ranked 33rd in Financial Stability, 88th in Education, 103rd in Health, 86th in Safety, 106th in Economy and 122nd in Infrastructure & Pollution. Louisville was ranked 92nd in Total Budget per Capita and 15th in Overall City Services.
