Morehead State University to begin phase 2 of Adron Doran University Center renovations

ADUC-8-16-web$49 million project should take 22 months

MOREHEAD, Ky. (Aug. 24, 2016) — Morehead State University will hold a groundbreaking at 9 a.m. on Friday for phase two of the renovations to the Adron Doran University Center.

The project will include approximately 87,000 square feet of new space to house the centralized student services operations and more flexible and accessible student food service. The project also includes infrastructure upgrades and renovations for approximately 53,000 square feet of the existing ADUC structure.

Built in 1956 on the site of the first campus building, this three-story building was expanded in 1969 and was renovated and expanded in 2005. Originally known as the Doran Student House, it was named in honor of Dr. Adron Doran, seventh president of MSU, who served from 1954 to 1977.

Phase two is scheduled to take 22-months at an estimated cost of $49 million.
