FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 27, 2016) — The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) has awarded 112 recipients in 74 counties $2,699,400 in grants from the 2016 Homeland Security Grant Program.
Grants to city and county governments, fire protection districts, area development districts and public universities will be used to purchase first responder equipment, communications equipment and critical infrastructure protection.
KOHS received applications requesting $15 million in grants, more than five times the available funds.
