World Trade Center Kentucky expands International Trade Certification Program

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 29, 2016) — The World Trade Center Kentucky has announced today that it will be expanding their International Trade Certification Program in November 2016 in partnership with the law offices of Frost Brown Todd.

“It has been great to watch this program grow over the past five years, and to see its impact on our region’s workforce,” said Edwin Webb, president and CEO of the WTC-KY.

This three-day professional development program, originally held only locally in cities across the Commonwealth, will be expanded to satellite locations in Nashville, Indianapolis and Charleston, W.Va. via video conferencing capability.

“This program was developed to provide the foundation for effective and efficient management of a company’s international trade operations,” said Mark Peachey, WTC-KY vice president of the international education center. “Our partnership with Frost Brown Todd will allow us to equip trade practitioners across the region with the most up-to-date knowledge on international business practices.”

The program is taught by business experts in areas of Market Entry Strategies, International Payment and Export Financing, Import/Export Compliance and Logistics, International Sales and Legal Considerations.

Participants will take an online examination and upon successful completion, will receive a “Certificate of Global Commerce Specialist” as recognized by the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarder’s Association of America (NCBFAA).

“We believe that this program is essential to businesses that are already conducting business globally, or wish to start. We’re excited to partner with the Trade Center to help educate the region’s businesses professionals,” said Jan De Beer, partner at Frost Brown Todd.

A limited number of member and non-member tickets for this event are available online now. The cost is $900 for members and $1,500 for non-members.
