UofL, WKU agree to football series from 2018-2020

First game will be in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 28, 2016) — The University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University have agreed to a three-game football series beginning in 2018. Games in 2018 and 2020 will be in Louisville, with the 2019 game in Nashville at Nissan Stadium.

Current Louisville coach Bobby Petrino coached WKU in 2014. Current WKU coach Jeff Brohm is a former quarterbacks coach at UofL.

Separated by less than 60 miles, the two schools first played in 1922, facing each other for 12 consecutive seasons. The teams have not played since 1998. Louisville holds a 19-12 series advantage and have won the last nine meetings. Louisville won the most recent encounter 68-34 at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
