Gov. Bevin appoints judge to Kenton County Family Court

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 20, 2016) — Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed Dawn Michelle Gentry, of Edgewood, to the Kenton County Family Court to serve the 16th Judicial Circuit, Division 5.

Gentry earned her bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University in 2003 and her Juris Doctorate from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 2006. For the past nine years, she has practiced family law and social security disability law in the Northern Kentucky region.

Sec. 118 of the Kentucky Constitution provides that vacancies in the office of a judge of the Circuit Court are to be filled by the Governor from a list of three names submitted by the appropriate Judicial Nominating Commission. Gentry shall serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the Nov. 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
