Gov. Bevin appoints Richard Glenn Brown as PVA for Letcher County

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 20, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed Richard Glenn Brown, of Ermine, as Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) for Letcher County, to fill the currently vacant post.

A graduate of Whitesburg High School, Brown earned an associate degree in mining technology from Hazard Community & Technical College. Employed by R.R. Crawford Engineering since 1977, he is also a licensed Professional Land Surveyor and a certified surface/underground miner.

Brown serves on numerous community organizations, including: the National Wild Turkey Federation (local chapter president), Pine Mountain Search and Rescue (team member), and Letcher County Tourism Commission (board member). He and his wife Glenda Sue have three children and three grandchildren.

This appointment will take effect on Feb. 1, and Brown shall serve until this position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
