Louisville has nation’s 44th worst traffic congestion, says study

Lexington ranked 81st

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 22, 2017) — Louisville ranks 44th in the nation for traffic congestion, while Lexington is 81st, among 240 cities, according to the INRIX 2016 Global Traffic Scorecard. Louisville is 60th out of 310 North American cities and 294th out of 1,064 cities worldwide, while Lexington is 113th in North America and 504th worldwide.

In 2016 Louisville drivers spent 7 percent of their time stuck in traffic jams, while Lexington drivers spent 6 percent of their time in traffic jams, according to the report.

Louisville drivers in 2016 spent 23.2 peak hours in congestion, while Lexington drivers spent 15.4 hours in congestion.

Los Angeles was No. 1 in all categories.
