UGN, Inc.’s Somerset facility opened in 2005 and now is home to a team of more than 300 employees.

“UGN Inc. is deeply committed to and involved in many charitable organizations throughout the local community,” wrote Mary Lou Brown in her nomination of UGN. “This team volunteers time and resources without hesitation and bring cheer to any event that they participate in. Their passion for giving back often leads to a member of the team being asked to serve in various leadership roles for the charities they support.”

The corporation is very involved in the local school system, partnering with school counselors to educate local students on business and industry, communication skills, and interviewing skills. They also help students attain technical training and identify positions within the corporation for which students may already be qualified.

Corporations for the Commonwealth recognizes one large (more than 50 employees) and one small (50 employees or fewer) organization through a nomination process that is open to the public. Persons may nominate businesses at sos.ky.gov.
