Lexington Minority Business EXPO celebrates 15 years of success

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug.3, 2017) – The Lexington Bluegrass Area Minority Business Expo is more popular than ever as it celebrates its 15th year of offering companies across the commonwealth the best in business workshops and networking opportunities.

The 2017 EXPO is an all-day event and will be held at the Lexington Convention Center on Friday, Aug. 4.

2017 marks a special year for the EXPO, as the committee has brought back one of its most popular keynote speakers: Dr. Randal Pinkett.

Dr. Pinkett is the founder, chairman and CEO of BCT Partners, a multi-million dollar consulting, research, technology and analytics firm headquartered in Newark, N.J. He also is past winner of the NBC reality show The Apprentice and he will be delivering the keynote address at the EXPO’s luncheon.

“Our conference is unlike any other because we’re offering quality opportunities and addressing the real needs of minority businesses,” said Marilyn Clark, EXPO chair. “Dr. Pinkett will offer our attendees the real world advice they’ve asked for — by discussing strategies African Americans and other emerging majorities use to successfully navigate today’s rapidly changing professional landscape,”

EXPO doors will open at 8:30 a.m., and the event will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:15 a.m. where EXPO committee members along with various city and state dignitaries will welcome the events’ many exhibitors and attendees.

Following the ribbon cutting, Sheri Riley, an empowerment speaker, life strategist, and author, will take the stage to discuss how to make choices that lead to less stress, better clarity, and a more fulfilling life.

The day-long EXPO will also include several breakout sessions, a lunch, a book signing and several opportunities for attendees to visit exhibitor booths and network.

The EXPO will wrap up with two special general sessions – “Under Construction”, with Fayette County Public Schools and the other with AECOM Hunt Construction, who are the lead contractors on the Lexington Convention Center Project. Both will be discussing inclusion and their goals in upcoming contracting opportunities.
