Kentucky native named top aide to Andy Barr, will manage Lexington office

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 28, 2017) – Congressman Andy Barr announced today that he has hired Kentucky-native Leslie Hagar Small as his district director. Small will serve as the congressman’s top aide in Kentucky, manage all staff in the Lexington office, and will oversee all constituent casework and outreach initiatives.

“I am thrilled to welcome Leslie to our team as my top aide in Kentucky” said Congressman Barr. “I have no doubt that with her extensive experience at the highest levels of government and politics, Leslie will be instrumental in helping our office to continue its high level of service to all the people of Kentucky’s Sixth District.”

Leslie Small is a native of Boone County, Ky. and is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. She has held senior positions in the George W. Bush Administration, American Crossroads, Senator Mitch McConnell’s 2014 re-election campaign, and Jeb Bush’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Small most recently served as a communications consultant for Kona Ice in Florence, Ky. She and her husband Adam live in Versailles.
