LBAR announces improved sales numbers in Woodford, Rowan, Scott County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 11, 2017) – Residential real estate sales by members of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors positively impacted the Woodford, Rowan and Scott County economies in third quarter of 2017.

Woodford County reported 254 sales totaling $66,793,062 while Rowan and Scott County had 107 and 931 reported sales totaling $15,820,650 and $200,148,922, respectively.

Residential sales had no percentage of change in Woodford County with 253 sales reported in third quarter of the year 2016 to 254 sales reported in third quarter of the year 2017. The median sales price increased six percent from $202,900 in third quarter of the year 2016 to $215,500 in third quarter of the year in 2017.  The average days on the market decreased from 57 days in third quarter of the year 2016 to 47 days in third quarter of the year 2017.

Residential sales in Woodford County increased 47 percent from September 2016 with 19 sales compared to 28 sales in September 2017. Pending sales increased from 30 in September 2016 to 42 pending sales reported in September 2017. The median sales price had increased from $190,000 in September 2016 to $219,750 in September 2017. New listings decreased 10 percent from 39 new listings in September 2016 to 35 new listings in September 2017.

In Rowan County residential sales increased eight percent from 99 sales reported in third quarter of the year 2016 to 107 sales reported in third quarter of the year 2017. The median sales price increased five percent from $130,000 in third quarter of the year 2016 to $136,000 in third quarter of the year in 2017.  The average days on the market had no percentage of change from 82 days in third quarter of the year 2016 to 82 days in third quarter of the year 2017.

Residential sales in Rowan County increased 67 percent from September 2016 with 6 sales compared to 10 sales in September 2017. Pending sales decreased from 9 in September 2016 to 8 pending sales reported in September 2017. The median sales price had increased from $122,750 in September 2016 to $142,500 in September 2017. New listings decreased 24 percent from 17 new listings in September 2016 to 13 new listings in September 2017.

Residential sales in Scott County increased nine percent from 856 sales reported in third quarter of the year 2016 to 931 sales reported in third quarter of the year 2017. The median sales price increased four percent from $181,375 in third quarter of the year 2016 to $188,700 in third quarter of the year in 2017.  The average days on the market decreased from 58 days in third quarter of the year 2016 to 43 days in third quarter of the year 2017.

Residential sales in Scott County increased 12 percent from September 2016 with 95 sales compared to 106 sales in September 2017. Pending sales decreased from 101 in September 2016 to 98 pending sales reported in September 2017. The median sales price had decreased from $188,000 in September 2016 to $184,509 in September 2017. New listings decreased 27 percent from 132 new listings in September 2016 to 96 new listings in September 2017.
