Governor makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 22, 2012) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointment to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Evelyn D. Strange to the Louisville and Jefferson County Air Board to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2016.

· Evelyn D. Strange, of Louisville, is an electrical contractor and president of Advanced Electrical Systems Inc. The appointment replaces J.D. Nichols, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Carter Vance to the Waterfront Development Corp. Board of Directors to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 31, 2014.

· Carter Vance, of Louisville, is an attorney at Stites & Harbison PLLC. The appointment replaces Cordell G. Lawrence, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring July 31, 2016:

· Robert P. Banks, of Prospect, is a senior vice president at Fifth Third Bank.

· Jon Alan Meyer, of Louisville, is a certified public accountant and partner at Jones, Nale & Mattingly PLC.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jimmy Bevins to the Fish and Wildlife Resources Commission to serve for a term expiring Aug. 13, 2012.

· Jimmy Bevins, of Owenton, is the owner of Bevins Motor Company. He represents the 5th Fish and Wildlife District. The appointment replaces James R. Rich, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the commission to serve for terms expiring Aug. 13, 2016:

·  Stephen M. Glenn, of Frankfort, is a construction superintendent for Judy C. Harp Co. He represents the 6th Fish and Wildlife District.

·  Terry K. Teitloff, of Smithland, is technical services manager for Vulcan Materials. He represents the 1st Fish and Wildlife District.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following as members of the State Board of Agriculture, to serve for terms expiring Aug. 1, 2016:

·  Charles E. Boyd, of May’s Lick, is a farmer and cattleman. The appointment replaces Michael W. Bruce, whose term has expired.

·  Sam Moore, of Morgantown, is a farmer. The appointment replaces Mark E. Haney, whose term has expired.

·  Marc B. Ashby, of Pembroke, is vice president of operations for Cal-Maine Foods Inc. The appointment replaces Terry Ashby, whose term has expired.

·  Sharon W. Furches, of Murray, is a farmer. The appointment replaces Joseph R. Wright, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring Aug. 1, 2016:

· Darrell Selby, of Russell Springs, is an agriculture instructor at Russell County High School.

· Mark A. Reding, of Howardstown, is a farmer.

·  James L. Clay, of Chavies, is a ranch manager at Pine Branch Coal Sales Inc.

·  Billy Glenn Turpin, of Richmond, is a farmer.

·  Neil Allan Howard, of Lexington, is farm manager at Gainesway Farm.
